Our new formula repels mosquitos with a unique blend of catnip herb, essential oils as well as a distinctive variety of Indonesian citronella (Cymbopogon winterianus) that's more effective than the more commonly known Citronella (Cymbopogon nardus).
Researchers report that nepetalactone, the essential oil in catnip that gives the plant its characteristic aroma, is about ten times more effective at repelling mosquitoes than DEET — the compound used in most commercial insect repellents.
In 2016 the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) studied Lemon Eucalyptus oil (Eucalyptus citrodora) and reported it to be as effective as DEET against mosquitoes.
Geranium contains geraniol, which has also shown to be an effective tick and mosquito repellent.
Citronella, Lemongrass and linalool, which is found in Lavender, are all known for their ability to repel insects.
