Gruene Music & Wine Festival (New Braunfels, TX)
- The Gruene Music & Wine Fest began as a one-day event in 1987 with the purpose of promoting Texas and Americana music in a fun and relaxed setting while raising funds for the United Way of Comal County.
- Over the years, it has become a four-day* celebration not only of Texas and Americana music, but also a celebration of wine, craft beer, food and gift items handmade in the Lone Star state. NOTE: The Craft Market occurs outdoors on Saturday and Sunday only.
- The event continues to grow each year. In recent years, we have been able to expand the Saturday wine tasting to include over 40 wine & food producers for tastings and ‘Le Cordon Gruene’ food trucks. To further enhance Sunday’s event, we added a Craft Beer Tasting, a second stage and the big game on a big screen TV.
Lights Spectacular (Johnson City, TX)
- Come celebrate the beauty of the Christmas season, Hill Country style, during Johnson City's annual Lights Spectacular event, which runs Friday through Sunday immediately following Thanksgiving in the historic square off Main Street.
- This outdoor event features a parade, over fifty vendors, food, activities and a spectacular fireworks display.
- Since 1989, Johnson City, the "Twinkliest Town in the Hill Country," has transformed from a quaint hill country town into a sparkling Christmas wonderland. Originally, the festival served as a fundraiser for local clubs and organizations. Over the years, the festival has morphed into an event enjoyed by families from across the United States and beyond.
- Volunteers organize early each year to begin the process of transforming this presidential hometown into the brightest, merriest Christmas village in Texas. The display consists of 2.3 million lights and can even be seen from the International Space Station!
Christkindlmarkt (New Braunfels, TX)
- In New Braunfels Texas, the holidays are a real big deal, we celebrate with Christmas tree lightings, Wassailfest, a Christmas parade, and since 2017 a German-inspired Christmas market, Christkindlmarkt.
- This free, three-day, outdoor event was created as a gift to one local woman’s German immigrant husband, and to bring to New Braunfels a sense of community.
- But don’t let the newness of the Christkindlmarkt fool you; within its second year, this FREE community event boasted over 50,000+ guests.
- Christkindlmarkt is an experience that we hope will become a long-lasting tradition not only for the residents of New Braunfels but also for the residents from its many surrounding communities.
- Visitors of this market enjoy wonderful German and American foods, drinks, beer, handcrafted Glühwein and locally handcrafted items from open-air stalls and accompanied by the sounds of Christmas music, German music, children and adult choirs and German adult and children dancing groups.
